CAPACITY BUILDING & NETWORKING


Building strengths of communities and change makers at the grassroots is important strategy of GIT to percolate the development action at local level. This is sustainable investment in social change process. GIT builds the capacities of field workers of partner organizations on selected topics. The GIT initiated the process of formation of special Grassroots Institute to execute training and research.



On-Field Capacity Building

On-field capacity building of field workers is critical for effective implementation of projects. Thus it is one of the important activities of GIT to sharpen the understandings and skills of fieldworkers.

Training Programs for NGOs

Activities under Training Programmes are undertaken by Grassroots Institute, an independent unit of GIT created under Resolution No. 2A.

Small NGOs from many provinces of India like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Bihar, Orissa, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan have been trained. Several trainings were participated by the NGOs from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.

The demand for intensive capacity building from field-based grassroots voluntary organizations is high. Grassroots Institute tries to cater the needs of such voluntary organizations.

Networking

Grassroots India has networking with over 100 CSOs in North & Central India. This network of GIT exists in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Delhi and Andhra Pradesh. The Grassroots India has enormous database of the NGOs operational in these states. With large number of NGOs a firm relationship is being maintained. The single objective behind networking is extending solidarity and assistance.
