| Operation
Model |
Operational
frame of GIT encompasses empowerment and development of communities
through strengthening the capacities of stakeholders. Most of the
projects are carried out in the way that they should not confront
the state, but mobilize/organize the people to challenge the unequal
social structures, power centres that induce injustice, exploiting
groups and unaccountable governance institutions. |
| Grassroots
India principally builds the capacities of partners/ people
by providing information, technical know-how, and on-field training
and orientation, which is a sustainable way of empowering the
communities and partners. GIT believes that giving money in
hands of people is equal to making one handicapped.

|
Grassroots
India Trust works mostly in partnership of grassroots NGOs, action
groups, national and international organizations. This partnership
is materialized after long association and mutual persuasions. Yet
there are certain macro level interventions that are carried out
by GIT directly. |
GIT
focuses on marginalized and excluded social groups such as tribes,
dalits and other deprived communities. Particular emphasis remains
on women, children and youths. |
